ERB SURVEY - This is the big one. Nearly 100 questions--82 questions specifically ask which books by Edgar Rice Burroughs you have read. A No Response is also informative regarding Edgar Rice Burroughs in today's readership, so please take our survey even if you've only read one book or watched one movie! We are also interested in your collecting habits and whether you like the movie/tv Tarzans and Janes, etc. No question is invasive of your privacy. We're testing the pulse of Edgar Rice Burroughs fans on the Net. Ultimately these on-line results will be merged with J. G. Huckenpöhler's similar Burroughs Bibliophiles questionaire which was collected and finalized in 2003. The combined results—when cross-tabulated—will eventually be posted to this page.

YOUR FAVORITES
Quick & Dirty polls of the Choose One type. Results should indicate the respondents' favorite story in each series.

Barsoom Female Breast Size - Which pictorial profile fits your visualization of the Barsoomian female's physical form as described by Edgar Rice Burroughs? Poll includes images you can easily steal by right clicking on each picture.

Going to the Movies - Learning about You and the Movies. Theaters, DVD's, Rentals, Genres and age group. Six little questions.

Reader Interests - This is not an all-inclusive poll. Tangor wants to know which Authors you read or collect, which Authors you believe were influenced by Edgar Rice Burroughs, your Favorite ERB artist, and your Favorite ERB Comic illustrator—and then Tangor limits your choices to an admittedly limited group of Authors and Artists. If you would like to see more choices or have the poll broken into queries of Authors/Artists by decades since 1911 send an email to tangor@erblist.com

MAKE A BURROUGHS MOVIE!
"CONVINCE ME, BABY! YOU'VE GOT THREE MINUTES!" -- Money is no object! Pick a property. Then convince the studio WHY it should be made. You only have time for a few sentences, so give it your best sales pitch! You can keep typing in the box, it will take your text.

Readers 5 Star Rank the Novels of ERB - Vote your enjoyment of the books. This survey is different from the above "Favorite" polls in that you rank the novels on a 5 star system just like you would rate a movie for a friend. This questionaire should ultimately reveal which novels you, the readers, feel are the author's best or most important works.

Readers 5 Star Rank the Fan Fiction at Tangor's Pastiche and Fan Fiction site - This survey is to determine the readership of the fan fiction written in the style of Edgar Rice Burroughs at Tangor's Pastiche site. Using the same five star rating descripted above, please let our authors know how you like their efforts.

TANGOR'S ERB TRIVIA QUIZZES

Three levels: Beginner, Novice, and Expert.

Beginner: 10 questions. Casual to semi-interested ERB fans should make short work of this quiz. That said, there might be one or two questions on things you've not yet encountered. See remark in next section:
Novice: 10 questions. Slightly more difficult--aimed at the ERB fan who has read most of the works. If you encounter a question on a book you haven't read and answer incorrectly, just subtract that from your score--can't answer what you don't know!
Expert: 20 questions. Designed for the serious ERB fan. Includes many questions regarding ERB's personal life and some of the more obscure elements found in the books. I suspect that true collectors will grab the necessary volume to answer the question.
These quizzes are meant to test your knowledge. They are also a learning tool: all answers are revealed at the end of each quiz. You can wait 24 hours to take the quiz again but since I am not collecting or tabulating test results there's no need. Have fun! See if you're smarter than the question asker!
Note: This is not a "pretty" quiz. Questions are presented one at a time. There is no "return" to this page link. Either bookmark this page or use your back button to return here.

The ESSENTIAL Burroughs Library
You are about to be stranded on a desert island for the rest of your life. Which three (3) ERB books would you take?

JUNGLE KING TEST

The following short quiz consists of four questions and will tell you whether you are qualified to be a jungle king professional. The questions are NOT that difficult. But don't reveal results for any question until you have answered that question and all the previous questions! Place your mouse pointer at the end of the question to reveal the answer. We are using an HTML trick to display the answers. Please do not click on the answer, it is NOT a link to another page.

1. How do you put a giraffe into a refrigerator? Open the refrigerator, put in the giraffe, and close the door. This question tests whether you tend to do simple things in an overly complicated way.
2. How do you put an elephant into a refrigerator? Did you say, Open the refrigerator, put in the elephant, and close the refrigerator? Wrong Answer. Correct Answer: Open the refrigerator, take out the giraffe, put in the elephant and close the door. This tests your ability to think through the repercussions of your previous actions.
WHO DO YOU READ?
Visitors frequently reveal their interest in reading came from exposure to ERB at an early age. Who are the other authors and books you enjoy? Replace the prompts with your entries!

3. The Lion King is hosting an animal conference. All the animals attend... except one. Which animal does not attend? Correct Answer: The Elephant. The elephant is in the refrigerator. You just put him in there. This tests your memory.
4. There is a river you must cross but it is used by crocodiles, and you do not have a boat. How do you manage it? Correct Answer: You jump into the river and swim across. Have you not been listening? All the crocodiles are attending the Animal Meeting. This tests whether you learn quickly from your mistakes.
RESULTS: According to Anderson Consulting Worldwide, around 90% of the professionals they tested got all questions wrong, but many preschoolers got several correct answers. Anderson Consulting says this conclusively disproves the theory that most professionals have the brains of a four-year-old.
